Empowering Futures: Emerging Artist Prize at Frieze

Awarded for his presentation with Brunette Coleman in Frieze London’s ‘Focus’ section, Nat Faulkner has won the 2024 Emerging Artist Prize. This recognition will lead to his first institutional exhibition at Camden Art Centre in 2025.

London-based artist Nat Faulkner’s presentation features large-scale photographs created with darkroom processes and sculptures made from silvering, introducing a unique twist to traditional methods. The exhibition, supported by Camden Art Centre’s curatorial team, will include public talks and events.

Faulkner’s gallery, Brunette Coleman, was selected from 34 galleries in Frieze London’s ‘Focus’ section, dedicated to supporting younger galleries and early-career artists. Martin Clark, Director of Camden Art Centre, praised Faulkner’s work for its rigorous and seductive use of materials and process.

The jury panel included Gina Buenfeld Murley (Curator, Camden Art Centre) and Joseph Constable (Head of Exhibitions, De La Warr Pavilion). Brunette Coleman expressed gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting the excitement for Faulkner’s upcoming solo exhibition.
